On March 13, 2022, within the framework of the events dedicated to Charentsavan city day and the 125th anniversary of Yeghishe Charents, the National Archives of Armenia presented an exhibition of archival documents and photos dedicated to the life and activities of Yeghishe Charents.
The event started with the speeches of schoolchildren and with the laying of flowers at the monument of the “Curly-haired Boy”, a symbol of the city of Charentsavan, and at the bust of Charents. Then, an exhibition of archival documents was opened at the Yeghishe Charents Memorial.
Harutyun Ghazanchyan, Deputy Mayor of Charentsavan, and Grigor Arshakyan, Director of the National Archives of Armenia greeted the participants with his opening speech. Archive worker Armine Hovhannisyan presented the displayed documents.
The event was attended by Armine Zakaryan, Head of the Culture Department of Charentsavan Municipality, Suren Muradyan, Chief of the staff, Satenik Balabegyan, Head of the Public Relations Department, Anahit Artushyan, the guide of Charents Memorial, students of №1 and №4 Charentsavan schools, students of Abovyan State College and many other guests.
The National Archives of Armenia donated copies of the displayed documents and photos to Charents Memorial for a permanent exhibition and for acquainting generations with the life and activities of Yeghishe Charents.
