Exhibition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Aram Manukyan

On March 29, 2019, an exhibition of archival documents dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Aram Manukyan, State, Public Figure, Minister of Internal Affairs of the First Republic of Armenia, was held at the Palace of Culture and Youth in Stepanakert, and Bako Sahakyan, President of the Artsakh Republic, His Holiness Pargev, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Lernik Hovhannisyan, Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of the Artsakh Republic, Amatuni Virabyan, Director of the National Archives of Armenia, Lernik Hakobyan Director of the State Archives of the Artsakh Republic, and several other high-ranking officials were among the visitors. The exhibition was organized in cooperation with the National Archives of Armenia with the Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs, and Tourism of the Artsakh Republic. The displayed documents were presented in chronological order, from 1902 to 1919.

In his speech, Lernik Hovhannisyan praised Aram Manukyan’s assistance in the defense of Van-Vaspurakan, later his contribution as Minister of Internal Affairs.

In his speech, Amatuni Virabyan, the director of the National Archives marked Aram Manukyan as an individual, who laid the foundation of our statehood, and turned out to be an exceptional public and state figure. His investment in the national liberation struggle and the establishment of the first republic of Armenia is invaluable.
