The director of the National Archives of Armenia participated in the 18th session of the Advisory Council of the Heads of Archive Services of the CIS Member States.

On July 14-15, Grigor Arshakyan, Director of “National Archives of Armenia” SNCO took part in the 18th session of the Advisory Council of Heads of State Archive Services of the CIS Member States in the city of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.

The leaders and representatives of the archive services of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee, participated in the meeting.

According to the working procedure, issues related to document storage and accounting, popularization of archives, adoption of normative legal acts in the field of archival work, implementation of electronic services, international relations, and material and technical base of the archival sector were discussed and recommendations were made.

  1. Arshakyan, Director of the National Archives of Armenia, presented reports entitled “Development and Prospects of the National Archives of Armenia” and “Means for Document Recovery and Combating Biological Damage”.

It was decided to continue the active cooperation on the exchange of experience in archival science and organization of archival work, training of specialists of state archival services, and other issues.

According to the charter of the Advisory Council of the Heads of the CIS State Archive Services, Ulugbek Yusupov, director of the “UZARKHIV” agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was elected as the chairman of the Advisory Council.

It was decided to hold the regular 19th session of the Consultative Council of the Heads of State Archive Services of the CIS Member States in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
